ABERAERON town councillors have blasted a BBC Wales fly-on-the-wall documentary they claim makes the people of Ceredigion “look like idiots”.
Among the issues covered by Cardigan Bay Coastal Lives were the arrival of lions at Borth Zoo, the electoral campaign of Ceredigion’s lone UKIP councillor Gethin James and Ceredigion County Council officer Jasmine Wilson’s ongoing crusade to keep local toilets clean.
After the four-part series completed its run last week, Aberaeron town councillors are fervently hoping there is no second series.
Cllr Phill Davies said: “We, as a county rely heavily on tourism and any potential tourist seeing that would most likely be driven away.
“It gave the impression Ceredigion was full of idiots and in doing so has done our county a great disservice.
“It’s an absolutely appalling programme and everyone I know who’s seen it thinks its a pile of pants.”
