A COMINS Coch man has been banned from the road for more than three years by magistrates after admitting drink driving at almost twice the legal limit.

Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court heard on Thursday, 6 January that Steffan King, of 25 Clawdd Helyg, was stopped by police while driving an Audi S3 on the A487 Penglais Hill in Aberystwyth on 20 December last year.

Roadside and police station breath tests showed that the 37-year-old had 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Magistrates disqualified King, who pleaded guilty to the charge at the hearing, from driving for 40 months.

King was also fined £120.

He must also pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85 as well as a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.
