A Blaenau Ffestiniog man has been jailed after assaulting and threatening two emergency workers at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

Colin Piper of Church Street, Blaenau Ffestiniog has today been jailed for 12 weeks for threatening and abusive behaviour, criminal damage and assaulting two emergency workers at Ysbyty Gwynedd on Thursday.

Bangor district inspector Chris Hargrave said: "An incident of alcohol fuelled violence is unacceptable under any circumstances, however our hard working and dedicated NHS colleagues certainly should not have to bear the brunt of such anti-social behaviour.

"We will not tolerate incidents such as this, and will continue to put anyone who assaults emergency workers before the court to face justice."
