A DREFACH Felindre man has been handed a 12-week suspended prison sentence after admitting taking a car without the owner’s consent and rdriving while disqualified.

Aberystwyth magistrates heard on 8 December that Matthew Ellis Evans, of Gwendraeth, had a “blatant disregard to court orders” .

Ellis, 31, was caught driving while disqualified in a Nissan Terrano near Talgarreg on 22 October this year.

He was also uninsured and had taken the vehicle without the consent of the owner and caused damage to the car.

Ellis pleaded guilty to all the offences at the hearing.

Magistrates sentenced him to a total of 12 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months.

Ellis must also carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, was disqualified from driving for two years, and fined £200.

He must pay £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.
