Age Cymru

A DOLGELLAU group which looks after the elderly in the community has been commended at a national awards ceremony. The Dolgellau Age well Steering Group was recognised in the community category at the Annual Age Cymru Awards for their contributions to creating an age-friendly Wales. Although the organisation did not win its category, it was one of only eight organisations across Wales shortlisted for the award.

Ras y Gader

THIS year’s Ras y Gader is well on target, with a good number of pre-entry runners from around the UK looking forward to the 10.5 miles mountain race. The date for the race is Saturday, 21 May and the starting time is 1pm for the main race, which is sponsored by The Royal Ship Hotel, Dolgellau. The chip and pin timing, which was a new feature of the Ras y Gader last year will continue. The junior races are sponsored by JGS Electrical, and these races will be starting from 11am onwards. All competitors should register at the Free Library in Eldon Square, Dolgellau from 10am onwards. We look forward to a very good day with the Barmouth Samba Band supporting the event.
