A student from Aberystwyth was part of a choir that has won the much-coveted BBC Songs of Praise Senior School Choir of the Year 2019 competition for the second time in four years.
Edith Smith, 18, a pupil at the prestigious Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, is a member of the Tring Park 16 Chamber Choir, who were crowned BBC Songs of Praise Senior School Choir of the Year 2019 on Sunday, 2 June.
Edith has been at Tring Park School since 2016 but prior to that, she attended Ysgol Penglais in Aberystwyth.
Edith also attended the Aberystwyth Arts Centre Dance School and Stage School.
Prior to studying at Tring Park, Edith trained with Ballet Cymru Associates for three years, the National Youth Dance Wales, National Youth Training Choir of Wales and was a member of the inaugural Only Kids Aloud Choir with whom she performed at the Marinsky Theatre in St Petersburg and for the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games.
The final saw the Tring Park School Chamber Choir compete in the senior category against NChant - Kent and Francis Holland School Senior Chamber Choir, London.
The choir impressed the judging panel with their performance of Steal Away.
