TWO pupils at Ysgol Nefyn school have won first and second prize in a competition to design and draw a poster highlighting the dangers of getting to dependant on antibiotics.
The competition was organised and ran by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health board and was open to primary school pupils throughout north Wales.
Their teacher, Sian Evans said: “I noticed the competition on the boards Facebook page and thought I would get the class interested and every pupil in my class entered and to have two chosen in the top three is a very proud achievement for me as their teacher and for the school.”
First prize was awarded to nine-year-old Cari Ann Williams, who was very pleased and excited on hearing this fantastic news, Cari and her school were presented with an iPad each whilst second placed Alaw Wyn Dobson, 10, was presented with a ‘Scribblicious – 75 Piece Stationery Set’ that will enable Alaw to carry on and develop her drawing skills to a higher level.
The girls’ work will now be produced as large posters and will be displayed at the entrances of various entrances of the many north Wales hospitals.
