ANOTHER case of coronavirus has been confirmed this evening at a Lampeter school.

In a letter to staff this evening, Ysgol Bro Pedr Head, Jane Wyn, confirmed that all of Year 10 are being asked to self-isolate until 9 December after a pupil tested positive for Covid-19.

This is the second case this week at the school after the reception classes of the primary sector of Ysgol Bro Pedr were asked to self-isolate on Sunday evening.

In a letter to parents this evening (Thursday), also posted on the school’s social media page, Mrs Wyn said: “Today, pupils in Year 10, Ysgol Bro Pedr have been asked to self-isolate following the confirmation of a Covid-19 case.

“The contact group has been asked to self-isolate due to being close contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 case.

“These pupils and staff must remain at home until midnight on 8 December to reduce the possible spread of the virus to family, friends and the wider community.

“The Year 10 pupils will be able to return to school on Wednesday, 9 December.

“The Year 10 teachers will set work for the pupils via Teams.

“Other than pupils in Year 10 and the Under 5 Unit, the school will be open to all pupils tomorrow (Friday) as normal.”
