I note that in the forthcoming May elections, candidates of almost all parties will be trying to out-green each other in the search for votes.
Therefore, without being in any way party-political, may I suggest that all voters ask the following question when the smiling candidate comes knocking?
“How are you going to power the UK and all its vehicles with electricity generated by wind and solar energy when the National Grid website www.gridwatch.co.uk tells us that UK wind energy in 2020 averaged 6,220MW, but dropped as low as 95MW, and it is dark for up to 17 hours a day in winter, with UK solar energy averaging 1278 MW?
“Given that UK homes, factories, offices and hospitals etc need at least 55,000MW to be available and 30 million electric cars will require at least 150,000 MW from the Grid for two hours each day to travel only 37 miles a day, where will all your electricity come from?”
Readers will learn far more from the answers than by listening to any parrot-like, political mantra emanating from the broadly smiling candidate!
