Madam,

We live in an age where so many negative thoughts and opinions exist, especially towards our health services, and criticism of standards at our hospitals is always an easy target.

My sister received an emergency operation at Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth recently and I can only thank everyone involved in her recovery, from the consultants and the nursing staff to the cleaners, who all showed an extremely high standard of professionalism.

This most certainly created a special, friendly atmosphere which ensured good progress of recovery.
