A family have donated lifesaving equipment to Criccieth RNLI in memory of their son.
Crew members from Criccieth’s lifeboat station gathered earlier this month to gratefully receive a donation of equipment from a family who holiday locally, in the memory of their loving son.
Colin and Ann Marie Hornsby, who live in Manchester, presented the crew with a CCTV system, weather station and VHF scanner for use at the lifeboat station.
Their son, Colin Hornsby Jr, known affectionately as ‘Codge’ to his friends, enjoyed holidaying near Criccieth with his parents and sisters, Becky and Emily.
The funds used to purchase the equipment were raised by his friends and family.
Following the presentation, Criccieth’s lifeboat operations manager Will Walker-Jones thanked the family.
“The Hornsby family’s donations are very gratefully received by all at the station,” he said. “The equipment will be appreciated, while assisting in our mission of saving lives at sea.”
