THE family of a Lampeter man whose organs saved the lives of four people following his death have accepted a St John’s Ambulance award on his behalf.

Kim Stubbersfield, who was born and raised in Cellan, died suddenly at the age of 53 last November following a stroke.

He had spoken of his wish to donate his organs following his death.

In line with his wishes, Mr Stubbersfield’s kidneys were donated to two separate individuals, one of whom was a single parent of two children.

His liver was donated to an 18-year-old, who was subsequently able to make it home from hospital for Christmas, and his heart valves and tissues were placed into a ‘heart bank’ and continue to save lives, including that of a baby, born with a hole in the heart.
