FORECASTERS have issued a bank holiday weather warning, with heavy rain and thunderstorms set to sweep across all of Wales.

The yellow weather warning has been issued from 6am on Saturday morning until 11.59pm on Sunday.

The Met Office says that very warm and humid conditions will lead to thunderstorms developing across parts of Wales as well as Southern England, the South and West Midlands on both Saturday and Sunday.

Thunderstorms will produce torrential rain and hail in places with up to 30mm falling in an hour, while some places may miss the worst of the heavy rain.

There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.

The warning has been issued for all of Wales, with forecasters unsure where the worst of the rainfall will hit.
