My grandfather and his generation fought bravely, and endured great hardships, in order that the people on this island could live as free citizens.

He would be horrified at the current situation of governments worldwide destroying the livelihoods of their people and dictating who they can see and where they can go.

He would be astonished that a virus with a less than one per cent fatality rate (average age of death 82 years) was considered more dangerous and indiscriminate than guns, hand grenades, bombs and concentration camps.

He could see through the spin. He would probably shake his head in bemusement at the craziness of it all.
