NO new Covid deaths were recorded in Wales on Friday, according to data released this afternoon (Sunday) - but there were 535 new cases, down from 570 logged on Thursday.
Locally, there was only one new case in Ceredigion - the lowest number of any local authority in Wales. That takes the county’s total to 1,870 recorded cases - by far the lowest in Wales, and half the number of the lowest second and third counties - Pembrokeshire and Gwynedd.
There were 19 new cases in Carmarthenshire and 9 in Pembrokeshire. Powys recorded 10 new cases on Friday, and Gwynedd another 20.
The localised figures for the week up to 28th June (the latest available) show that the Abersoch and Aberdaron area in Gwynedd is in the highest ten per cent for case rate, with 17 cases that week.
And one other area of concern is the Cilgerran and Crymych area, with 10 cases and in the second highest decile.
