Ceredigion has seen a big jump in Covid-19 cases today.

After only recording one new case on Wednesday, Ceredigion has today recorded 20 cases.

Elsewhere, Carmarthenshire has recorded 14 cases today with Pembrokeshire recording six cases, Powys recording 24 cases today and Gwynedd has recorded 18 cases.

701 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Wales today with the rate of infection on an upward trend, currently standing at 117.0 cases per 100,000 population nationally.

No new deaths have been recorded today however, leaving the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 in Wales at 5,578 since the start of the pandemic.

Across Wales, 2,269,131 have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine and 1,783,079 are fully vaccinated.

In Hywel Dda, as of 7 July, 209,478 residents have now received both jabs, with 14,175 given in the last seven days.

In Carmarthenshire (population 188,771) there have been 129,966 first jabs given and 100,841 second does, with 53.4% full vaccinated.

In Pembrokeshire (population 125,818) there have been 90,453 first doses administered and 69,573 second doses, with 55.3 per cent fully vaccinated.

And in Ceredigion (population 72,695) there have been 51,387 first jabs given and 39,064 second doses, with 53.7 per cent fully vaccinated.
