PUPILS at an Aberystwyth area school have been told to self isolate after coming into contact with someone with Covid-19.
Ceredigion County Council this morning confirmed that pupils in a contact group at Ysgol Gynradd Penllwyn in Capel Bangor have been told to self isolate for 14 days after a case of coronavirus was confirmed at the school.
Just one group of school children has been asked to self isolate and the remainder of pupils will continue to attend school.
The council said: “The contact group has been asked to self-isolate due to being close contacts of a confirmed Covid-19 case at the school.
“These pupils and staff must remain at home for 14 days to reduce the possible spread of the virus to family, friends and the wider community.
“Due to the strong procedures that have been put in place in the school, only one Contact Group is being asked to self-isolate.
“All parents have been contacted by the school and will also be supported by Ceredigion Contact Tracing Team.”
Parents are being urged to refer their children for a test if they develop any of the symptoms, which are:
· a high temperature
· a new continuous cough
· a loss or change to sense of smell or taste.
You can apply for a test on https://gov.wales/apply-coronavirus-covid-19-test or by phoning 119.
