Hywel Davies from Aberystwyth, who celebrated his half century by lifting half a tonne of weights, has raised a fantastic £2,000 for Bronglais Hospital.

On his 50th birthday – 4 April - Hywel lifted 500kg to raise money for the hospital’s chemotherapy ward.

Hywel said: “I would like to sincerely thank each and every person for their kind donations because without them all this wouldn’t have been possible.”
