A NEW respiratory clinic will be available to Blaenau Ffestiniog residents when the town’s health care centre opens later this year.
The clinic at Canolfan Goffa Ffestiniog will bring ‘care closer to home’ according to Betsi Cadwaladr.
Nurses from the respiratory team will be offering a monthly oxygen assessment and review clinic at Canolfan Goffa Ffestiniog.
Patients can be referred to this clinic by their GP, community nurse or any other health care professional.
Jane Parry, respiratory nurse specialist, said: “We have clinics in community hospitals across the area and I’m very pleased we will be introducing this service in Blaenau Ffestiniog when the health centre opens later this year. We look forward to networking with other health care professionals and agencies in the locality.
“We currently see many people from the Blaenau Ffestiniog area at the clinic in Ysbyty Alltwen so I think having this service closer to where they live will certainly benefit them. It will make access to the service easier for patients living in Blaenau Ffestiniog.”
