THERE have been 19 new cases of coronavirus in Powys this week, and 7 across the Hywel Dda health board area.

There were no new confirmed cases reported by Public Health Wales across Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire today (Sunday). So the total for the week across the three counties stands at 7 - up from 5 last week, but down from 11 the week before.

This week saw one new case in Ceredigion, 2 in Carmarthenshire and 4 in Pembrokeshire.

A spike in cases in Powys has led to 19 cases being confirmed this week.

The jump in Powys is in part attributed to a number of residents at a council-operated traveller site in Welshpool who have tested positive for Covid-19.

In Gwynedd, there were no new cases today (Sunday) and only one new case this week, down from 3 last week.

Today (Sunday) across Wales, there were 22 new cases and one person died with Covid.

The total number of cases in Ceredigion is now 66 - still by far the lowest rate of infection of any local authority area in Wales. Carmarthenshire has had 807 cases; Pembrokeshire 298; Powys 351 and Gwynedd 589.
