A TREGARON student who set up a YouTube channel about growing food is celebrating after picking up a prestigious Young Enterprise UK Award.
Huw Richards, 17, set up HuwsNursery on Youtube in 2014 and it has since received over five million views.
A pupil of Llandovery College where he is studying biology, georgraphy and art, Huw is also setting up an organisation aiming to re-connect people with local food.
“I believe in encouraging people to grow their own food using sustainable methods,” he said. “Having made the shortlist I then had to attend the awards ceremony in Newport where I had to put forward a business plan as well as giving a presentation.
“I went down there not knowing what to expect, to be honest. The standard of entries was extremely high so I was surprised and delighted to find out I had actually won.”
Along with the award, Huw received £2,000 prize money.
