I was delighted to read the news of a zip wire planned to be installed over the Aberystwyth Promenade.

I may be 84, but I would love to be among the very first to have a go. Also what is planned with upgrading the end of the pier sounds marvellous. Landlocked people absolutely love eating and overlooking the sea at the same time.

I live near Caersws but have been visiting Aber since I was a child and, up until lockdown, shopping and eating there on a regular basis.

Now I am no longer sure. There is no way Aber will win holiday visitors away from the pastel coloured seafronts of Tenby or Aberaeron, looking boring and dull! The more upgrading, the better - without going overboard of course.

Some larger greenery in tubs would be welcoming, although there are annual beautiful flower displays in tubs. Older visitors require seating to rest at regular intervals.

I hope to see Aber look more inviting some time sooner rather than later. And hopefully before I ‘pop my clogs’ as it were.
