MORE information has come to light about an image taken during the construction of the Coliseum Museum in Aberystwyth in 1904, which appeared in the last edition of the Cambrian News’ Timewatch section.

It shows David Phillips (centre, with bowler hat), the then owner of the Coliseum Museum, along with the architect, J A Jones on the extreme left, surrounded by others who worked on the construction of the Coliseum building.

Thanks to reader Roberta Manning, an extra name has been put to one of the faces in the photograph.

Her grandfather, Edward Evan Jenkins, can be seen on the right, standing behind a young boy (his son, Richard David Jenkins).

Mr Jenkins built the Coliseum along with many other iconic buildings in the seaside town.

Another photograph of the builder (second in the slideshow) can now be shared.

This one shows E E Jenkins with his sons Llewelyn (Merchant Navy) and Richard David (Dick). Richard was also in the 1904 image.

Both sons followed in their builder father’s footsteps and took over the firm.
