Clwb-y-Ddôl

MEMBERS of Llanbrynmair Clwb-y-Ddôl assembled at Maesmawr Hotel in early December to enjoy their Christmas Luncheon. They were blessed with a fine mild day and were welcomed by the chairman Gaynor Breese. Gaynor said how delighted she was that Anne and Meirion Jones had been able to come from Anglesey to join us on this happy occasion. Sadly Mary and Cleaton Williams had not been able to come from Criccieth as Mary was recovering from an operation and that good wishes had been sent to her for a speedy recovery.Eldrydd Lewis, chairman for this event, said grace and members sat down to an excellent meal. There was much chatter and laughter as everyone pulled their crackers. Some members actually wore the hats they had acquired while others were contented with exchanging the jokes and conundrums found inside. Everyone brought a parcel for the Secret Santa sacks and after the meal these were taken round by secretary Frances Fenwick and treasurer Judy Allday and members drew out a parcel, some of which were opened at once while others were taken home to be enjoyed later.

Frances Fenwick announced that the first meeting of 2016 will be held in the Llanbrynmair Community Centre on Thursday, 28 January, and will begin at 2pm instead of the usual 2.30pm as it will include the AGM.

Finally, Eldrydd thanked the staff for the way in which they had made them feel welcome and the excellent service that they had given, and the well-fed members made their way home.
