A LLYN preacher is to take on a sponsored walk to raise money for local churches.

Since coming to Wales from Grenada in September, Nigerian born Father Agbor Fredrick Isek, M.S.P., has fallen in love so much with the Llyn Peninsula that he’s undertaken to lead a 20-mile sponsored walk following the scenic coastal path from Abersoch to Aberdaron.

The project was launched with great success at the churches of St Joseph’s, Pwllheli; Sant Garmon, Abersoch and The Resurrection of Our Saviour, Morfa Nefyn on Easter Sunday and the event will take place on Saturday, 27 August.

Following the huge success of the parish sponsored bike ride last year which in addition to boosting the parish funds also raised £3,500 for the Wales Air Ambulance service, this event is designed to bring together a large number of parishioners, visitors and the entire community to enjoy the breathtaking views along the 20-mile stretch of coast between Abersoch and Aberdaron.

“In Wales you don’t find beauty,” said Fr. Fred, “but beauty finds you, and so as well as raising much needed funds to maintain our three churches, the day promises to be a wonderful occasion for all involved.”
