A CORRIS art studio is celebrating Hindu culture in Meirionnydd with colourful displays and diverting talks.

Residents are invited to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, with a world famous Bollywood actor and a series of other artists.

The event will take place at Stiwdio Maelor in Corris — a new art studio set up last year to provide residency opportunities for artists and writers from the UK and other parts of the world.

On 15 November 2015, Bollywood actor Raj Verma (pictured) will host an afternoon of art, film and readings which will feature art works by current artist in residence Mita Solanky.

Raj Verma is a well-recognised figure in Fairbourne and its surrounding districts.

The Bollywood star has acted in almost a 180 films since his debut in Mukaddar Ka Sikander.
