A MEIRIONNYDD man has spent two years growing his hair before getting it chopped off for charity.

Tomos Ephraim, 23, of Tyddyn Merched CWm Cynfal, Ffestiniog, dedicated his time to growing his hair long enough so it could be used to make wigs for young children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments.

His hair will now be sent to The Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides top-of-the-range wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.

As well as sending his mop of hair, Tomos also hopes to collect as much money as possible to aid the charity’s good work, with all donations to be made directly to the children’s organisation.

Tomos, who works as a carpenter when he is not helping out on the family farm, said: “If ever there was a deserving charity to help, this is it.

“Who likes to see a young child suffer? I definitely don’t, and if I can help anyone I will.”
