Madam,

I feel I have to write to enquire whether the redundancies mean that they are thinking of closing the University of Wales Trinity St David, in Lampeter.

It is disgraceful the way they are carrying on. They are much more interested in sending students to Carmarthen rather than keeping them in Lampeter.

What about the students who will be coming back to do their final year to find their lecturers won’t be there?

My granddaughter was here on open day and was very impressed with the archaeology department, and it’s very well known for being extra special, and the lecturers were very helpful and encouraging, but if this is also finishing, she and many others will have to look elsewhere.

If the college is going downhill because of lack of money, why don’t the top people take a drop in salary, as they could well afford to.
