A MOTHER has blamed herself after her two-year-old girl died after being trapped in a car which ended up in the River Teifi in Cardigan.

Kim Roberts originally thought her Mini had been stolen with her daughter Kiara inside when the vehicle which was left near the river could not be found.

But her partner Jet Moore, who runs Adventure Beyond, later suggested the car had not been stolen and it had in fact been a tragic accident.

Police, who have not released the full circumstances leading up to the tragedy, confirmed they were not looking for anybody else in relation to their investigation.

Kim wrote on her Facebook page this afternoon: "Sadly yesterday my beautiful baby girl passed away!

"Due to my own stupidity, I will have to live with the guilt for the rest of my life!

"Mummy loves you baby girl and I’m so sorry.”
