Madam,
We have experienced in the last few weeks non-collection of the household waste and food bin by Ceredigion County Council. When we contacted the council they apologised but said we would have to wait until the next collection. As we were going away, we stored the bags and re-presented them this week. Yet again no collection of the recycling bags and food bin on Monday.
We decided we couldn’t leave them any longer and went to Aberystwyth Recycling Site only to be told we couldn’t leave household or food waste there as there was no facility available.
If, however, we put them in black bags that would be OK as the contents couldn’t be seen. They returned home with us and one begins to wonder how soon we will have to resort to “black bagging” if non-collection of waste continues. Six bags and counting!
We pay rates to have our waste collected and when that doesn’t happen there is no alternative other than to disguise the waste or even worse fly-tip the bags.
When we are all supposed to be increasing our recycling capabilities, isn’t it about time Ceredigion County Council provided a facility for those of us who do care where our waste goes.
Come on Ceredigion County Council do your job or, if you can’t, at least allow us to have the facilities to dispose of our recycling responsibly.
Yours etc, Barbara Clarke, Goginan.
