A centenarian who is thought to be the oldest man in Wales has celebrated his 107th birthday.
A special birthday party was held on Sunday, 16 December when Searson Thompson – who still lives at home in Aberdyfi and enjoys a tipple most days – celebrated his remarkable landmark birthday with his family and friends.
Mr Thompson, born in 1911, is now believed to be the oldest man in the country.
His granddaughter Alice was full of admiration for the “inspirational” 107-year-old.
“I am so proud of Grandpa – he is incredible to have reached such a great age,” she said.
“He is so lucky to be still living in his own home where he is looked after well and has a wonderful view of his beloved Dyfi Estuary.
“Grandpa has received many cards today with, of course, a special one from the Queen.
“He now has four cards from the Queen – for his 100th birthday, his 105th birthday, his 106th birthday and now his 107th birthday.”
