ONE PERSON was taken to hospital after a bus crashed on the A44 near Capel Bangor last night.

The 525 Aberystwyth to Llanidloes bus run by Mid Wales Travel is believed to have hit a wall at Blaen-geuffordd, Melindwr, at about 5.30pm.

The road in both directions was blocked off while emergency services attended the scene but was later reopened.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said one person was taken to Bronglais General Hospital in Aberystwyth.It is believed there were passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident. Aberystwyth Police are hoping to speak to any witnesses or passengers who were on the bus at the time.They are asked to contact PC Lodwig at Aberystwyth Police Station.
