A NUMBER of colourful characters attended Llanafan Carnival on the weekend, all seeking to pick up prizes in the fancy dress competitions held on the day.

President for the day was Thomas Crockett, who crowned the carnival queen Alys Jenkins as part of his duties. Alys was accompanied by her attendants, Hefin Jenkins and Owain Lloyd.
