PAPERWORK for Machynlleth Town Council to apply for funding for the town clock will be completed within the next fortnight, councillors have heard.
Clerk Rab Jones said after a string of delays, town council staff now had the time to be able to complete the paperwork with assistance from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
While Mr Jones apologised to councillors, he said other priorities had meant the complicated paperwork could not be completed previously, but he said: “Hopefully we have the end in sight and ourselves and the HLF are keen to bring this project to fruitition.”
Cllr Glenda Jenkins, who had launched the fund-raising appeal for the town clock, said it was time the grant application was submitted as it had been around two years with the town council having different staff in that period.
