FUNDING of over £40,000 toward the scheme to use an empty shop as a new entrance to Aberystwyth’s Ceredigion Museum has been welcomed by council representatives.
The Welsh Government has agreed to provide funding of £40,800 to restore the historic frontage of the former Boots store on Terrace Road as part of the plan to improve the museum and provide a better entrance.
The New Approaches schemes will see the frontage of the old Boots store reinstated to its former appearance based on historic photos, documents and plans showing how the shop used to look.
It would also provide a shop and café that would raise money for the museum and a new base for Aberystwyth’s Tourist Information Centre.
