PLANS for the £500,000 regeneration of Aberystwyth’s skateboard park are said to be in danger of falling through unless local people show their support.

It was reported in the Cambrian News in October that the planned refurbishment of Parc Kronberg skatepark and the surrounding area could be completed by the end of 2016 after an application for funding from the Big Lottery was successful in its first stages.

But a Penparcau councillor is now appealing for letters of support and for people to take part in an online survey after a previous second stage application failed earlier this year because of a lack of evidence to show there was support from local people, groups and businesses.

Cllr Mererid Jones said: “We have resubmitted based on our second stage application failing last time because it didn’t prove we had done sufficient consultation with the public, and because we were lacking evidence to show that there was support for the project."
