Ceredigion councillors have signed off the authority’s accounts for 2020-21 with no issues raised by Audit Wales.

Members of the council’s governance and audit committee discussed the accounts at its meeting on Thursday, 25 November, with full council meeting later that day to give the final sign off.

Committee chair Cllr Elizabeth Evans said this had been the first set of accounts presented where there had been no questions or clarifications, adding “Covid runs like a thread through every sheet of paper.”

She added there was gratitude for officers for processing £49 million of Covid payments from the Welsh Government which had saved many businesses that may have “gone to the wall” otherwise.
