A Ceredigion Town has been named in the top 10 prettiest towns in the UK, with two villages in Dwyfor Meirionnydd making it into the top 10 list of the prettiest villages.

Aberaeron came ninth in the list of prettiest towns, and Portmerion and Beddgelert were second and ninth respectively in the list of prettiest villages.

The results have been put together by FBM Holidays.

“Each town and village was scored on several ranking factors, including the number of awards, the number of Instagram hashtags for the location, the number of times it featured in articles featuring ‘UK’s prettiest places’ and ‘UK’s prettiest towns and villages’, how many National Trust sites are nearby and how many Google images it has,” a spokesperson for the holiday cottage company explained.

Topping the list of prettiest towns in the UK is Keswick in the Lake District. Castle Combe in the Cotswolds was named the prettiest village in the UK.

When data for both categories was combined, Castle Combe was named top, with Portmeirion coming in second.
