THE film Yr Ymadawiad/The Passing, written and co-produced by one of the creators of Hinterland, has won the Single Drama award at this year’s Celtic Media Festival Awards.
The film beat off a strong list of competitors on the shortlist to take the gong at the media festival at Dungarvan, Ireland.
The powerful, evocative drama was produced by Severn Screen in collaboration with Boom Pictures and Film Cymru Wales for S4C.
Written by writer and producer Ed Talfan, it was directed by Gareth Bryn. Currently on cinematic release, it will be broadcast at a later date on S4C.
The film stars Mark Lewis Jones as Stanley and Annes Elwy and Dyfan Dwyfor as the lovers.
Dafydd Rhys, S4C’s director of content, said: “We congratulate everyone involved in the production of this powerful film. This quality production richly deserves this award.”
Ed said: “We are thrilled to win the award. The support of Ffilm Cymru Wales and S4C was crucial to the film’s success, as was the talent and commitment of our incredible director, cast and crew.”
