A MEIRIONNYDD cricket club has been bowled over by a generous four-figure grant.

Dolgellau Cricket Club is looking forward to the new cricket season after receiving a grant of £1,000 from housing association Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd’s Community Investment Fund.

The money has been used by the club towards the purchase of a new bowling machine to allow players to practise their batting skills whatever the weather.

Club chairman Gareth Lanagan said: “We are grateful to CCG for part-funding our new bowling machine. The bowling machine will be essential to develop the skills of our members, of all ages and gender.

“We are always looking for new members, this season’s training will start from 1 March, contact [email protected] for more information.”
