Madam,
I am writing to reiterate my letter of warning dated last November when I complained through this paper and I suggested that our county council (meaning those who are voted in by us) remove the bus shelter outside the public loos in Park Avenue, Aberystwyth, to save embarrassment of people waiting at the wrong bus stop.
Well, on Wednesday, 21 March, it finally happened. Two ladies, wanting to catch the 3.10pm from Park Avenue were very nearly ignored by our bus driver - and it was only because of his goodwill and the fact that the nearby traffic lights were on red that they were able to get onto the bus. Admittedly there are no timetables there now but so many others don’t have them either.
Could I please ask ‘the powers that be’ to do the right thing and remove this shelter at their earliest opportunity - as the holiday season is nearly upon us and I would hate anyone to be left waiting at the bus stop ‘that is no longer there’.
The majority of our visitors will not know that the fact that the stop does not have a flag means it’s no longer active.
Yours etc,
Sue Slocombe, Llanon.
