A HARLECH man is taking part in a race around the world.

Ian Munford has been selected to take part in the first leg of the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race for GB – a race for non-professional sailors to circumnavigate the globe.

Ian will travel on the Atlantic Trade Winds leg from Liverpool to South America, the first leg of a journey which will see the boat travel over 40,000 nautical miles.

The intrepid sailor was waved off by lots of family members from Albert Dock Liverpool on Sunday, 20 August.

It is expected to take the team between four and six weeks to reach Uruguay.
