Madam,

On Wednesday, 18 April, we parked our motorhome in the beach-front car park at the end of Lower Regent Road, Aberaeron. However, at 10am when we planned to continue our journey our motorhome refused to start. We had to call out the recovery company and ended up being towed to Portsmouth for repair.

My partner found a sum of money on the footpath heading north but nobody she asked stated that it belonged to them. We had no time to take it to the police station. We have now returned to Sussex and we would like to return the money to the owner but clearly proof of ownership is required. The owner should be the only one able to answer the following questions: (a) The sum of money lost; (b) A description of the piece of paper that was with the money; (c) The paper had a few hand-written notes indicating a specific trade.

We will also try to contact the police in Aberaeron. Hope your readers can help.

Yours etc,

Trevor Cree, Steyning, Sussex.
