A TYWYN brother and sister team have each swum the equivalent length of the English Channel to raise money for charity.

Samuel and Molly Aitken, aged 14 and 12 respectively, have both completed this year’s Aspire Channel Swim challenge by completing 1,416 lengths of the Bro Dysynni Leisure Centre pool.

The challenge was to swim the distance of the English Channel over 12 weeks in their local leisure facility and raise money for Aspire, a spinal injuries charity.

The Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn pupils are both keen swimmers with Dysynni Dolphins Swimming Club, based at Tywyn Leisure Centre, and have both comfortably completed the 22 miles within the three-month window.

The dynamic duo have raised a total of £150 to help people with severe back problems.

Samuel and Molly said they would like to thank everyone who has sponsored them in the event.
