I would like to thank Marlene Howe and all her staff at J R Evans & Co (Aberaeron) for just under 18 years of kind, generous, and thoughtful support of my son Huw, who is severely autistic and non-verbal.

Since he was a toddler we have had his shoes fitted at J R Evans & Co, which requires a lot of patience. We were always welcomed and Huw’s significant sensory issues have always been remembered and catered to.

This makes a huge difference to our lives - it is very hard to fit shoes for someone who is nonverbal and will not cooperate, but comfortable shoes are so important. Recently, although Marlene had stopped carrying the brand of shoes that Huw wears, she measured his feet, gave me the size, advised me to buy them online, and offered to check the fit of the shoes once they arrived. Words cannot say how grateful I am.

Huw and I have always had so much kind and loving support locally. J R Evans & Co have gone well beyond providing a helpful service, and Huw and I will never forget their kindness.
