A CHURCH near Harlech has been shortlisted on a list of Wales’ favourite churches or chapels.

St Tanwg in Llandanwg has been named as one of the 50 most historic and fascinating churches or chapels in the National Churches Trust Sacred Wales competition, with members of the public now having the chance to vote for their favourite.

The winning church or chapel will receive a special trophy and cheque for £500, with a reception being held at The Cornerstone in Cardiff on 13 July to launch the public vote.

A spokesperson for the church said: “It’s exciting to be shortlisted, especially as we are about to commence a comprehensive conservation and preservation programme of work to secure this ancient building for future generations.”
