Madam,
Being advanced in years I must admit to being more then disappointed to read that Plaid Cymru’s Aberystwyth town and Ceredigion county councillors Mark Strong and Endaf Edwards think that their elderly residents are considered by them to be ‘non cost-effective’ if their local residential care home Bodlondeb, Penparcau is kept open for them.
Are these councillors representing their residents or the council coffers?
Cllr Strong is also reported as saying to the town council that Ceredigion council is exploring all options to save Bodlondeb after the county council proposed a consultation into its closure. Did Cllr Strong give any indication as to who would carry out the consultation and if any cost to taxpayers would be involved?
I do hope that as many of the young and the elderly will attend the public meeting arranged for Monday, 17 July, at 7pm in Llwyn yr Eos School, Penparcau to voice their concerns on the possible closure of this much-loved residential home.
Yours etc, name and address supplied.
