THE ‘CAVE Girls’ from Cardigan completed a charity event with a difference over the weekend – carrying a 25kg bag of coal from Tregaron to Cardigan.

The six-strong team carried the bag the 50 miles from Tregaron to Cardigan in aid of Cardigan Cancer Care.

The ladies are pictured (from right): Carys Davies, Debbie Bell, Emma Jones, Cancer Care representative Anne Davies, Elin Burton, Cindy Rogers, Cancer Care representative Angela Evans, and Rachel Rees. Enfys James (seen on the far left) was, unfortunately, unable to take part at the last minute due to family bereavement.

The girls completed the task in 24 hours as hoped. They said: “There were times where we wanted to give up, especially throughout the night, but Cardigan Cancer Care is a cause so close to our hearts so giving up wasn’t an option.” The total raised was £4,599.85.
