Madam,
In these febrile political times when many politicians appear to have forgotten that public service is a fundamental motivating factor as opposed to personal ambition or gain, it is marvellous for me to pay personal tribute to Morgan Vaughan, an ex-councillor for Tywyn, who, although at an advanced age and having retired, still performs acts of kindness and support for his constituents.
My motivation for writing is due to his concern and kindness shown to my mother, Mrs D M Barton, a resident of Aberdyfi, who at the age of 94 had a nasty fall in her home and found herself in Bronglais Hospital.
He got involved by assisting her transfer to Tywyn Memorial hospital where she is at present recuperating well. His dedication to his good works should be seen as a beacon to all aspiring public representatives, and I speak for all of my siblings in publicly thanking him for his concern, assistance and, ultimately, his years of service to the community.
Yours etc, Adrian P Barton, Wigan.
