Madam,
On Sunday, 26 May, we were privileged to be present when the Tywyn Carnival came to town. There were so many excellent floats that it was hard to select one out of the many. So much effort had obviously gone into the displays, so praise goes to them all.
Our local cinema had a fantastic float based on Harry Potter characters. The Tywyn Freewheelers Group were well represented and each in their motorised vehicles were cheered on. We loved the one transformed by numerous pretty balloons. We also spotted the Aberdovey Players on a float dressed in their amazing costumes. Well done!
We spotted a group representing Ty Gobaith, so hopefully they collected much-needed funds for this great charity.
It was evident that a great deal of time had been taken to organise this fantastic event and a huge thank you goes to you all. Wish we had space to mention you all individually.
The parade began at the far end of town and eventually travelled along the promenade where people were three-deep, straining not to miss the carnival, and then into the playing field where there was much fun to be had.
Children made good use of the inflatable structures and other games, and food and drink stalls were popular. The fun continued for several hours until we all made our way home.
Finally, we send our sincere thanks to all who gave us a day to remember. You are all stars.
In these times where there is so much uncertainty, it lifted one’s spirit to be out and about and thoroughly enjoying this very special day.
Yours etc, George and Linda Turton, Cader Walk, Tywyn.
